Bonnie and I hit the hills again yesterday morning. This time I left Roxy at home and we trekked with just her two, Cliff and Porter. I tell you what, Bonnie has some serious cardio-pulmonary capacity because she was kicking that mountain's butt, as well as mine. I sounded like I was going to die (and kinda felt that way, too) as I tried to keep up with her on the steep trail.
I thought coming down the other side would be easy, but I just found another way to hurt myself - three times in a row, I turned my ankle on some rocks in the trail. I didn't want to look like a total loser and kept going. When I got home, I realized that by ignoring my ankles I actually made my hip sore because of how I was carrying my weight.
Fear not, my ankles and hips are fine. I just feel about 60 years older than I am, and I know I need to get back into the swing of things if I'm ever going to survive this year's hiking season. I'm hoping to get up to those waterfalls again sometime before the weekend and get those photos I promised.
I suppose going for some hikes this week will probably help since Bonnie and I are planning to go snowshoeing on the Greenwater trail next weekend. I'll be sure to get pictures, especially for those of you who have never experienced Greenwater.
